What are the signs that my dryer vent needs cleaning?
- Clothes take longer to dry.
- The dryer gets very hot during operation.
- There’s a burning smell when the dryer is running.
- The lint trap fills up quickly.
How often should i get my dryer vent cleaned?
Theres no simple answer. It depends on many factors. How long is your vent? How often do you run your dryer? How old is the house? Do you have pets? How many twists and turns does your vent system have? Every house is different, every vent is different and every families situation is different. Until you get it cleaned its hard to know. Some vents are long and get dirty quick, some are short and you can get away with longer time in between cleanings. The best advise is to understand your dryer and vents needs, which is exactly what i provide: once i clean your vent and learn a bit about your situation, i can provide a truly realistic expectation on how often to clean. Once a year is a good rule of thumb if you're unsure.
How long does a routine dryer vent cleaning take?
You can expect your cleaning to take typically 30-60min
Why is it important to clean dryer vents?
- Fire Safety: Lint buildup can lead to dryer fires.
- Efficiency: Clean vents improve dryer efficiency, reducing energy costs and drying time.
- Longevity: Regular cleaning can extend the lifespan of your dryer.

I tried cleaning the vent myself but got a brush stuck in the vent, can you help?
This happens all the time, some times store bought vent cleaning tools will break off deep in your vent, quickly causing massive issues. Sometimes its a breeze to get them out, other times it is a massive headache and disassembling the vent may be a necessity . I have techniques to extract tools and objects lost in vents. If i can get it out, you wont get charged, i guarantee it.
I am having severe issues, do you do off-hours emergency work?
We can sometimes make after hours work. Their is an "after hours surcharge" to be added to the bill. Give me a call and see if i can make it work.
Do you have raccoons working for lint bandit?
Unfortunately, we do not employ any raccoons. Although, with their dexterous paws and fuzzy demeanor, sometimes i wish i could have a few on our team! That'd probably require some sort of special permit...
